Will the DeSoto-Coppell football game be televised live?

Fox Sports Southwest today announced plans to televise Saturday’s UIL Class 5A Division I Region I area round football playoff game between DeSoto (11-0) and Coppell (11-0) at Allen Eagle Stadium.

DeSoto ended the regular season No. 2 in The Associated Press state poll, while Coppell was No. 4.

The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest (Fox Sports Southwest Plus in Houston market), if it is sold-out 48 hours prior to Saturday’s 1 p.m. CT kickoff in accordance with UIL TV rules for playoff games.

If the game is not sold-out at 18,000-seat Eagle Stadium by the required Thursday 1 p.m. deadline, Fox Sports Southwest will show it on delay Saturday at midnight CT and replay it on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT.

The matchup features the top two football programs in Dallas, who are also recognized in state and national rankings.

DeSoto is No. 3 nationally in USA Today’s Super 25. Coppell is ranked 14th nationally.

Fans can purchase tickets to the game at DeSoto and Coppell high schools.
