I find Mitt Romney's recent explanation of President Obama's win the height of arrogance and indicative of just how out of touch Romney is with mainstream America.

It is mind-boggling that someone who wanted to lead our country could categorize affordable education, healthcare and birth control as "gifts," or Hispanics, African Americans or the young as the only groups who would benefit.

My definition of "gifts" is quite different. I see healthcare, education and contraceptives as basic rights that all Americans deserve. Furthermore, being born into a family of considerable means is a gift. Having a parent or parents that shower us with love and the resources to provide opportunities for success in life is a gift.

How could Romney possibly presume to know how people who make $25,000 or even $35,000 a year would feel if they were to get (possibly) $10,000 worth of "gifts" from the government?

I wonder if that would even cover the feed bill for his wife's horses!
