Two North Richland Hills officers were injured early Sunday when a suspected drunken driver hit their vehicles as they were working in a construction area on Northeast Loop 820.
Sgt. Todd Hanson and Officer Oscar Saenz were taken to local hospitals, where they were treated and released a short time after the wreck.Police arrested the suspected intoxicated motorist at the scene.The wreck occurred about 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Northeast Loop 820 near the Hurst city limits.Both officers were in marked police vehicles when they were hit, North Richland Hills investigator Keith Bauman said in a news release.Emergency crews and police from North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Watauga and Hurst assisted at the scene.The name of the driver, who remained in custody at the North Richland Hills Detention Center on Sunday, will not be released until the person is arraigned and charges are filed, Bauman said.Domingo Ramirez Jr., 817-390-7763Twitter: @mingoramirezjrHave more to add?
