One man was shot to death and his cousin was in custody Sunday in Lewisville after a family disagreement ended in gunfire, Lewisville police said.

The victim was identified as Jacob Gutierrez, 26. He was found dead in a front yard at a Lewisville mobile home park.

Shortly after the shooting, Carrollton police stopped a man in their city that matched the description of the gunman at the Lewisville mobile home park. He was taken back to Lewisville and identified as Humberto Martinez-Benitez, 56, of Lewisville.

Martinez-Benitez is in the Lewisville Detention Center on suspicion of murder. Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also have a hold on the suspect, according to authorities.

Lewisville police declined to release any information on a motive in the shooting, other than saying that it stemmed from a family disagreement.

Gutierrez was found by Lewisville patrol at 1:11 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of North Cowan Avenue, at the Village North Mobile Home Park. Officers were responding to a report of shots being fired.

Gutierrez died from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.

Investigators broadcast a description of the suspect and his vehicle to other agencies, leading to the suspect's arrest in Carrollton.
