MESQUITE -- Alex Craig passed for four touchdowns as Dallas Christian remained undefeated with a convincing 35-6 win over Arlington Grace Prep in a TAPPS Division II playoff game Friday night at Wheeler Field.
Craig, a 6-foot-6 senior, completed 16 of 30 passes for 285 yards. Wide receiver Hayden Baker was his favorite receiver, with nine catches for 147 yards and three scores. The other touchdown pass was to Justis Nelson.
Grace Prep (4-8) was led by the running of quarterback Nate Hodapp, who scored the Lions' only touchdown in the third quarter on a 70-yard run on a draw play. Hodapp also passed for 54 yards. Running back Brad Horner caught seven passes for 25 yards.
Dallas Christian scored first when the speedster Nelson, who has committed to Texas Tech, raced 27 yards for a touchdown with 4:36 left in the first quarter to complete an 11-play, 63-yard drive.
Dallas Christian, using Craig's arm, took the second-half kickoff and marched for a third touchdown to take a 21-0 lead.
The Chargers advance to play Fort Worth Christian, a 35-34 winner over Grace Community of Tyler.
