Patraeus' behavior

The U.S. Army is much better than the likes of recently disgraced four-star Gens. David Petraeus, Kip Ward and Stan McChrystal. It is made up of hundreds of thousands of honorable soldiers doing their job for their country and each other and seeking nothing special in return.

As one biographer noted, individuals like the aforementioned generals create a bubble around themselves and truly believe they are so important that they cannot and will not be held accountable for their actions. As it turns out, their bubbles tend to include groupies, wannabees and self-re-enforcers of their boss' ego and sense of invincibility.

The Army lives by the creed of "Duty, Honor, Country." Perhaps, for these generals, it should be "Two out of three isn't bad."

I am disgusted by their actions. Your Army is something to be proud of and worthy of respect, not the self-inflicted disgrace of a few of the brilliantly stupid.

Retired Army Colonel,

Colleyville
