Romney should have talked deficit

"Jobs, jobs, jobs" was Romney's mantra for many months. Here's what he should have emphasized: the debt.

The debt is going to personally and profoundly affect every American in this country if we continue to let the president and Congress spend us further into oblivion.

Deficit spending during a debt crisis is like taking morphine for pain. The drug doesn't fix the problem. It masks it. And eventually you need more of the drug.

It's not as simple as asking our grandchildren to pay for our deficit spending.

If we don't stop it and reverse it, experts say we face an economic implosion in this generation.
