MINERAL WELLS -- Led by a potent running attack, Kennedale rolled into the Class 3A Division I playoffs with a convincing 63-28 win over Mineral Wells at Ram Stadium on Friday night.
With running backs L.J. Powell and Donny Darville combining for 493 yards of rushing offense and seven touchdowns, the Wildcats showed their readiness for postseason play with the District 6-3A win to clinch a perfect 5-0 district record.
Powell ended the evening with 325 yards on 25 carries for an impressive 13-yard average per carry. Darville totaled 168 yards on 16 carries.
