The annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. today in downtown Fort Worth.

The parade, featuring military vehicles, floats and high school marching bands, starts at LaGrave Field and winds through downtown Fort Worth before going back to LaGrave.

Veterans of the war in Iraq will be special honorees in the parade, put on by the Tarrant County Veterans Council.

Sunday

1:30 p.m., Veterans Day Celebration, Grand Prairie Veterans Memorial, 925 Conover Drive, Grand Prairie.

2:30 p.m., Massing of the Colors ceremony, First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, 1000 Penn St. Sponsored by the Fort Worth Chapter of the Military Orders of the World Wars.

Monday

The Fight Continues, a movement to read the names of all U.S. men and women killed in wars, will be held at locations throughout the Metroplex. Go to www.the-fight-continues.com for a list of locations.

What's closed Monday

While Veterans Day falls on a Sunday this year, the observed holiday will be Monday. Federal offices and banks will be closed and mail will not be delivered.
