A Peaster ISD school bus, experiencing some mechanical issues, burst into flames Thursday morning, but everyone on board were safely evacuated.

The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. Thursday when the bus driver, in the middle of his route, began noticing problems and got the students off.

Superintendent Matt Adams said the driver did a "great job" getting the children off the bus and to safety.

"He did exactly how we train in a situation like this one," Adams said.

Peaster ISD is located in Parker County and includes the unincorporated community of Peaster. The district is located about 30 miles west of Fort Worth, and 12 miles west of Weatherford.
