A man wearing a long black wig armed with a handgun robbed a Denton bank Monday morning, taking an undisclosed amount of money in the heist, Denton police said.

Investigators believe the same man could be responsible for a bank holdup on September 28 in Hillsboro.

On Monday morning, bank tellers told Denton police that a man walked into the Wells Fargo, 1001 S. Interstate 35E, in Denton brandishing a handgun.

The man, wearing the wig and a hooded jacket, demanded that two of the tellers give him money from their cash drawers. After getting the cash, the robber left the scene on foot.

Investigators said that the man Monday morning matched the description of a bandit who robbed a Wells Fargo in Hillsboro in September.

Witnesses described the bandit as an African-American man, 30 to 40 years old and about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-5.

Anyone with information, should contact Denton police at 940-349-7961.
