FORT WORTH--Brewer High School was on lockdown Thursday morning after a student entered a classroom and physically assaulted another student.

Officials shut down the school to clear the halls and search for the assailant, said Desiree Coyle, a White Settlement school district spokeswoman in an e-mail.

The assailant was not found, Coyle said.

The attack occurred about 8 a.m. at the school, 1025 W. Loop 820. The school has an enrollment of about 1,300 students, according to the school website.

At 8:24 a.m., the school was placed on lockdown to conduct the search.

The victim was treated at the scene and later taken home.
