I am a cyclist. I believe in following the rules of the road, as they pertain to cycles and other vehicles on the roadway.

I constantly read letters to the editor that complain of unsafe treatment by motor vehicle operators. My experience has been that a goodly number of cyclists obey the rules. However, there are also a goodly number of cyclists who disregard those rules.

I refer to those cyclists who disregard stop and yield signs, fail to indicate their intentions (i.e., left and right turns) and intentionally disrupt traffic.

Cyclists need to share the road with all other vehicles and do it safely.
