Electoral vote

The most egregious thing about the Electoral College is not just that a few states determine the outcome of the election but that all the votes for the runners-up in each state are thrown to the majority vote-getter.

Is that democracy? I am an independent, so if I don't vote the way the majority of Texas votes, my vote doesn't count, and it makes me hopping mad.

Between the Super PACs, the lobbies, the pledge signing for no new taxes for anything, the promises to not support the president on anything at all (which is unpatriotic in my book), I think our political system is a mess.
