It is an important point whether the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last month was the result of a planned terror attack by Islamic radicals (with al Qaeda connections) marking the anniversary of 9-11, or whether, as the Obama administration at one point claimed, the attack was the spontaneous result of an unruly mob protesting an amateurish YouTube video.

However, the reason it's important often gets lost in the details.

It's important because the Obama administration has been boasting that Islamic radical groups such as al Qaeda were in decline and on the run due to Obama's skillful foreign policy leadership.

In spite of deceptive efforts by the White House, the truth has now come out. Al Qaeda is on the increase. Obama's foreign policy leadership has been seriously discredited.
