Mansfield tight end headed to Air Force

A

Mansfield tight end Trent Gow committed to the Air Force Academy last week.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound senior has six catches for 54 yards and a touchdown this season in the Tigers' run oriented offense.

"I went up there this summer for camp and junior day and I like it a lot," Gow said. "I went up for the Navy game with my dad too and I got to talk with some of the players, cadets and some of the coaches. It felt right, I liked it a lot and so I committed about five days after."

Gow chose Air Force over offers from Central Arkansas, Georgia State and UTEP. He added that it was a big relief to go ahead and commit.

"Colorado Springs is an awesome place and a great place to play football," Gow said. "They have a lot of Air Force fans there and especially with it being the military, they are really supportive. It's really pretty up there, its beautiful; the weather is really nice compared to here."
