Woman killed in hit-and-run on Interstate 30 in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH -- A woman was killed early Sunday in an apparent hit-and-run accident on Interstate 30 near Beach Streeet, police said.

The victim, described only as a black female, was found lying on the side of the road on eastbound I-30, said officer Sharron Neal, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.

The woman had been hit "by an unknown vehicle," and Neal said the driver did not stop. No one was in custody as of 11 a.m. Sunday.
