Eliminate Electoral College

After the election is over it might be time to consider eliminating the Electoral College and go to a straight voter total count to determine the winner. The Electoral College was set up over 200 years ago to assure no state had more excess influence in the vote.

Now we're down to four or five "swing" states determining the whole election, and consequentially all the other 45 states, including Texas, being relegated to being either already Democratic or Republican and basically ignored by the candidates.

Am I the only one tired of Florida and Ohio determining the election?
