ALEDO -- The Aledo Bearcats remained unbeaten Friday night in District 7-4A with a 45-9 win over Fort Worth Wyatt at Bearcat Stadium. Aledo was able to capitalize on Wyatt mistakes to propel itself to 394 yards, with 245 coming on the ground.
Aledo (5-1, 3-0) was led by quarterback Pate Davis' 233 total yards, including 109 rushing yards and 124 passing yards on eight of 13 attempts. Complementing Davis was running back Jess Anders, who ran for 72 yards and three touchdowns, and Caleb Frysinger, who had 32 carries and a rushing and receiving touchdown.
The Chaparrals put up 318 yards, including 242 rushing, making it the most yards the Bearcats have allowed in district play this season. Two Wyatt rushers ran for more than 100 yards as Javonte Adams totaled 104 and Ladell Marshall had a game-high 118.
The Aledo defense, though, stepped up anytime Wyatt entered the Bearcats' half of the field. Wyatt had five drives stall inside Aledo territory in the first half, and the Bearcats got a key stop on a Wyatt fourth down late in the second quarter and put together a 74-yard drive with under a minute left in the first half to go up by 26.
