ARLINGTON -- Arlington Lamar quarterback Gene Visor passed for four touchdowns and running back Cameron Smith rushed for 181 yards and two scores Friday as the Vikings beat Arlington Sam Houston 66-27 at Cravens Field.
The Vikings (3-3, 2-1 in District 3-5A) took a 21-7 lead in the first quarter on Smith's touchdown runs of 65 and 50 yards and Visor's 28-yarder to Andrew Johnston. The Vikings totaled 502 yards.
Sam Houston (2-4, 1-2 in District 3-5A) was led by quarterback Ervin Hill, who threw for 147 yards, including the game's opening score to wide receiver George Luke from 63 yards out.
Sam Houston pulled within 21-14 in the second quarter on Hill's 3-yard run. Lamar answered by scoring on consecutive possessions, both touchdown passes from Visor to Kavonta Mayweather, from 19 and 6 yards away.
Lamar outscored the Texans 24-0 in the third quarter, starting with DaQuan Thomas' 92-yard kickoff return and ending in a Ryan Jacobs 19-yard field goal. On the defensive side of the ball, Lamar's Chase Greene helped with an interception.
