WAXAHACHIE -- Treyvon Hughes dove in from 1 yard with 1:29 left in the game as Waxahachie rallied from 16 down to beat Mansfield Legacy 28-22 Friday at Lumpkins Stadium. Hughes rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Waxahachie (4-2, 2-1 District 15-4A) scored first on Dylan McLain's 23-yard field goal in the first quarter. On the next drive, Legacy quarterback Brady Burke connected with Terrance Ivery for 46 yards to the Waxahachie 7. Three plays later Burke hit Josh Conrad for the 5-yard score and a 7-3 lead.
Legacy (2-4, 0-3) extended its lead to 22-6 on Kenton Mayberry's 56-yard sprint. Hughes' 52-yard burst brought Waxahachie to within 22-13.
