NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Authorities on Wednesday identified the man who was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon at a Chinese restaurant on Rufe Snow Drive.

Shee Wong, 55, was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office. His home address was not listed. The cause of death was a gunshot to his head, the medical examiner reported.

Wong and another man, both employees of Hunan Wok, were shot in the kitchen area by a former co-worker, police said.

Investigators were trying to determine whether a man found later outside a burning vehicle near Benbrook Lake was involved.

"He did have a gunshot wound to the head, possibly self-inflicted," said investigator Keith Bauman, a spokesman for North Richland Hills police.

That man remained hospitalized Wednesday in the burn unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

A police report identified the shooting victims as two Asian men, ages 50 and 55.

A woman who answered the phone at one of the men's residences Wednesday afternoon identified herself as the wife of 50-year-old Yu-Shou Weng.

She said Weng was hospitalized at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with at least six gunshot wounds, including to the head, stomach and hand, and has made some improvement.

The shooting occurred about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in the kitchen area of Hunan Wok, 5142 Rufe Snow Drive near Northeast Loop 820.

Other employees, but no customers, were in the restaurant, Bauman said.

"Early on, we had information that we were looking for a single individual who was a former employee," Bauman said.

Investigators put out a broadcast to law enforcement agencies regarding the former employee with a description of his vehicle.

The department was later notified that the vehicle had been found, engulfed in flames in Holiday Park on the north side of Benbrook Lake in unincorporated Tarrant County. The seriously injured man was lying outside the car.
