Dense fog Wednesday morning left some areas of North Texas with visibility of less than half a mile.

At Meacham Airport in north Fort Worth, visibility had dropped to less than a quarter of a mile.

The fog, which blanketed some areas and left others untouched, formed around dawn in many areas. It should start burning off around 10 a.m.

With a weak cold front stretching across North Texas, temperatures will be cooler today with highs in the low to mid 70s.

High temperatures will return to the 80s for the rest of the week with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday and Saturday night.

"There will be a chance of rain for all of North Texas but it won't cover all of the area," said National Weather Service meteorologist Nick Hampshire.
