Fort Worth Eastern Hills kicker Ronny Vega hit a 27-yard field goal as time expired to give the Highlanders a 6-3 victory over Saginaw Chisholm Trail on Friday.
Eastern Hills (2-3) opened the game with a nine-minute, 17-play drive that eventually led to a field goal.
The Highlanders held the 3-0 lead for most of the game, but the Rangers (1-5), who were helped by the Highlanders' 11 penalties for 100 yards, eventually were able to tie the score in the fourth quarter.
The Highlanders put themselves in position for the game-winning field goal after quarterback Antwjuan Strahan reeled off back-to-back runs for 19 yards.
An incomplete pass by Strahan left only one second on the clock, enough time to allow Vega to kick the game-winner. Strahan finished the game with 79 yards rushing on eight carries, and he completed 4 of 12 passes for 24 yards.
The Highlanders finished the game with 233 rushing yards, led by Marcus Baisy, who had 95 in the first half.
