A woman reportedly burned on her head and shoulder Thursday was taken by ground ambulance from a home in north Fort Worth to the burn unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

Firefighters responded at 4:42 p.m. to the home in the 13000 block of Berrywood Trail, according to a Fort Worth Fire Department report. The neighborhood is northeast of the intersection of Alta Vista and Keller Haslet roads.

"The caller stated the adult female was cooking and caught her shirt on fire," said Lt. Carol Jones, fire department spokeswoman. "The patient is reported to have burns to her head and shoulder."

The woman was taken by MedStar ambulance to the burn unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Jones said. A MedStar spokeswoman said the ambulance went with lights flashing and sirens sounding.

No other information was immediately available Thursday.
