h Cheers: To Arlington City Councilman Robert Rivera for voting his constituents' majority dissent against the 65-gallon recycle eyesores. Three other City Council members turned deaf ears to the dissenting voices of Arlington citizens and voted yes to the albatross carts. Chickens. Can you hear a collective Cluck, Cluck, Cluck?

-- D. Scott Sims, Arlington

h Cheers: To Agape Church for all the acts of kindness you've shown year after year to the students, parents and staff at Luella Merrett Elementary School. This school year has barely begun and already you have given uniforms, school supplies and more than $700! You are truly a blessing to our community.

-- Carla Parker, Fort Worth

h Cheers: To Harry Scoggins, former principal of Bruce Shulkey Elementary, and his daughter, Harriet Helm, for the lovely piano they donated to our school. We were so delighted to have you visit your former school and see all the changes that have happened over the years. Thanks!

-- Alice Galban, principal, Fort Worth
