FORT WORTH -- A family court associate judge has been sentenced to one year of probation and fined $1,240.10 for drunken driving with an open container.

In addition, Judge Clifford Lee Bronson, 44, of Fort Worth faces 90 days in jail if he violates his probation.

Conditions of his probation were not available Monday.

Bronson was sentenced Sept. 14 in County Criminal Court No. 1 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated with an open container.

Bronson is an associate judge in Title IV-D Court No. 2 at the Family Law Center in downtown Fort Worth. That court hears cases related to child support.

Bronson could not be reached to comment Monday, and a woman in his courtroom referred questions to the judge's attorney, Jerry Wood of Fort Worth. Wood did not return telephone calls.

State District Judge Jeff Walker of Fort Worth, administrative judge for the region that oversees that court, was out of the country and could not be reached.

Bronson was in the Family Court building Monday, said deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department.

On Jan. 19, at about 12:30 a.m., an off-duty Saginaw police officer reported seeing a black Chevrolet pickup that was unable to stay in a single traffic lane as it traveled west on Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, a police report stated.

The off-duty officer followed the truck until it pulled into a fast-food restaurant in the 6700 block of Camp Bowie. The truck fishtailed as it pulled out of the parking lot.

At that time, a Fort Worth patrol officer saw the truck on Camp Bowie, weaving across all lanes of traffic, according to the reports. The officer stopped the pickup in the 6900 block of Camp Bowie.
