A pedestrian died Monday after she was hit by a vehicle that jumped a curb on Beach Street in north Fort Worth, police said.

The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident was reported at 12:40 p.m. in the 5700 block of North Beach Street near Fossil Creek Boulevard.

Sgt. Pedro Criado said a truck was southbound on Beach when it hit a curb and went through an intersection. It jumped another curb and hit the victim, who was walking on a grassy area away from the street.

Then the truck plowed through some real estate signs and came to rest about 200 yards away. The male driver, who was not injured, was taken to an hospital where officials were drawing blood, police said.
