TCU running back Waymon James' availability Saturday is in doubt after he sustained an injury in the Horned Frogs' 20-6 victory at Kansas."It'll probably be a game-time decision," TCU coach Gary Patterson said Tuesday during his media luncheon. No. 17 TCU (2-0) plays Virginia (2-1) at 11 a.m. Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium.James was TCU's leading rusher in 2011 and he leads the Frogs with 168 yards this season, including a game-high 99 yards at Kansas. Television replays showed James clutching a knee after planting it hard in the fourth quarter and being looked at by trainers on the sidelines. Patterson said James did not practice Sunday.Tailback Matthew Tucker said he expects James to play Saturday, but if not, then he's fine sharing carries with freshman B.J. Catalon and senior Aundre Dean.Patterson said that if James is unavailable, then TCU will be down to only one of its three backs who shared the backfield the past two seasons. Ed Wesley, who led the Frogs in rushing in 2010, left the program in the spring."A year ago I had three tailbacks that had a chance to be draft choices and now you have a possibility to be down to one of them," Patterson said. "In my profession you can't worry about the guy that goes down. It's got to be about the next guy needs to step up. Matthew had the best spring and summer of all of them. He's been a great running back for us for a while."Patterson said backup quarterback Trevone Boykin could be a fourth option in the backfield.Stefan Stevenson817-390-7760Twitter: @FollowtheFrogs
