h Cheers: To Joe Villa, city of Hurst street superintendent, for the quick response to my concern that the ends of the traffic islands at Precinct Line Road and Harwood Road were difficult to see, especially at night. Within two days, they were painted yellow with reflection beads.

-- Eleanor Rogers, Hurst

i Jeers: To Casa Mañana for allowing alcohol consumption in the theater during performances. On Aug. 25, we were subjected to beer bottles rattling down the aisles and a number of loud, intoxicated audience members. This cheapens Casa and turns it into a bar experience.

-- Mark Caywood, Fort Worth

h Cheers: To David Ramirez and his staff at Sonic Drive-In at Trail Lake Drive and Interstate 20 for hosting Passion Horse Rescue on Aug. 25. They were great! Thanks to those donating, Passion Horse (www.passionhorse.com) will rescue more PMU foals from an almost certain death and provide life with new adoptive families.

-- Susan Eurto, Fort Worth
