David Eugene Musselman, 81, who apparently walked off from his west Arlington home during the middle of the night, was found safe Monday and is back home with his family, police say.

Musselman, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, was last seen about 10 p.m. Sunday at his home at 2412 Lakeside Drive. About 4 a.m., his wife noticed that he was no longer inside the home and that he apparently wandered off.

He was found sometime before 4 p.m. on Inez Drive, near Bowen and Pioneer Parkway, by a postal employee who was alerted by a citizen volunteer who had been actively looking for him, Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said in an email.

Last year, Musselman walked out of a North Arlington hospital and was found in Mansfield.
