FORT WORTH -- North Texans will need these items very soon: sunscreen, a light jacket and rain gear.

On Wednesday, forecasters say it will be sunny with temperatures in the lowers 90s. That's compared to just a week ago when temperatures were hovering near the triple digits.

Then on Thursday, a cold front arrives late in the afternoon, bringing with it cooler temperatures and a 50-percent chance of rain just in time for the Texas Rangers ballgame at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Heavy cloud cover before the cold front arrives will keep temperatures in the upper 80s during the day Thursday.

Forecasters say rain chances are also good Friday.

"We could see several waves of rain on Friday morning," said meteorologist Steve Fano with the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.

The low for Friday will be in the mid-60s and the high may only reach 80 that day.

Slight rain chances are on the books for Saturday, and Sunday should be dry.

Another cold front comes to North Texas on Monday, giving North Texans a 30-percent chance of rain.

"We have an active weather pattern," Fano said, referring to frequent cold fronts visiting North Texas. "But it's common for this time of year."
