The Tarrant County medical examiner's office is awaiting toxicology test results and police reports before ruling on the cause and manner of death of a Dallas police officer fatally shot at his Fort Worth home Monday afternoon, an official said.

Sharron Neal, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman, said detectives are continuing to investigate the death of officer Christopher Pasley as a suspected accidental shooting.

The shooting occurred about 3:20 p.m. at the residence in the 1200 block of Sierra Blanca Drive.

Neal said there were two witnesses to the shooting, including Pasley's wife. Pasley died at the scene.

Pasley joined the Dallas force in 2007 and was assigned to Central Patrol Division, according to the Dallas Police Department.
