The Texas Rangers have a long and proud history of power hitters coming through the organization, but Jurickson Profar did something that nobody else in Rangers history had accomplished while wearing a Texas uniform.

In his first big league at-bat, Profar homered Sunday. He sent a 2-1 fastball from Cleveland starter Zach McAllister over the right-field fence to start the third inning.

The last player in franchise history to do it was Brant Alyea when the Rangers were the Washington Senators. Alyea did it against California on Sept. 12, 1965.

Profar, 19, joins the Pirates' Starling Marte and the Padres' Eddy Rodriguez as the only other rookies with that feat this season.

Profar is the youngest position player in franchise history so, by default, he is now the youngest player to homer in a Rangers uniform.
