We know that high school football is big in Texas, so the Star-Telegram decided to figure out just how much money is spent — and how much is brought in — during one game. And what team to better use as an example than the Southlake Carroll Dragons, who open defense of their Class 5A Division I state football championship Friday night against the Allen Eagles.

The Eagles play in the lavish Allen Eagle Stadium, a $59.6 million, 18,000-seat facility that has received national media attention for its size and price tag. Here’s some of what we found:
