We know that high school football is big in Texas, so the Star-Telegram decided to figure out just how much money is spent and how much is brought in during one game. And what team to better use as an example than the Southlake Carroll Dragons, who open defense of their Class 5A Division I state football championship Friday night against the Allen Eagles.
The Eagles play in the lavish Allen Eagle Stadium, a $59.6 million, 18,000-seat facility that has received national media attention for its size and price tag. Heres some of what we found:
