The flavor of fall

Fort Worth Star-Telegram

All throughout the long, hot summer, I've been dreaming of fall. Crisp weather. Leaves crunching underfoot. Pumpkin and cinnamon scenting the air. My Pinterest boards are filled with hearty soups, Halloween decor and autumn outfits (Hello, boots!). Never mind the fact that fall in Texas lasts but a brief few weeks - a girl can still dream.

To fuel my fall fantasies, I've been fanatically applying the amazingly scented lip balm from Lip Glosserie. We're talking flavors like Gingersnap, Pumpkin Cheesecake and Buttery Toffee. (If you're not craving fall flavors, there's a huge variety of other choices.)

The 100% vegan balms are handmade in small batches in Austin. The owner, Jinny, uses ingredients like apricot kernel oil and mango butter to create the most moisturizing balm I've ever used. In my order, she included a sweet sample of Pecan Pie body lotion as well, which made me instantly hungry.

Balms are $3.00 each, or pick up a 3-pack for $8.50 which comes packaged in a little organza bag. These make great gifts to tuck into a backpack for back-to-school, too. The only challenge: trying to limit yourself to just a few flavors.

You can find Lip Glosserie on Etsy.

Happy fall shopping!
