Two brothers from Hunt County were indicted Tuesday on charges related to two bank robberies, including one in which employees and customers were ordered to the ground at gunpoint.

A federal grand jury in Dallas returned indictments against James Robert Cleveland Butler, 43, and his brother, Johnny Charles Butler, 45, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Dallas.

The brothers are charged with two counts of armed bank robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime, a news release said. Johnny Butler also is charged with assault on a federal officer.

The robberies occurred Nov. 25, 2011, and May 18, 2012, at Bank of America, 100 West U.S. Highway 80 in Forney in Kaufman County. During the May robbery, the robbers entered the bank with guns drawn, ordered everyone to the floor and made a teller open drawers containing money.

Before leaving, the robbers told everyone to count to 100 before getting up, the release states.

On Aug. 2, a search warrant was executed at the brothers' home in Quinlan, authorities said. Gas was deployed into the residence and shots were exchanged between the suspects and a federal agent before the brothers were arrested.

Johnny Butler was shot in the shoulder, the release states.
