FORT WORTH _ A 3-year-old boy who was pulled from an apartment complex swimming pool during the weekend has died, authorities said Monday.

The victim was identified as Marcus White of Fort Worth who died Sunday morning at Cook Children's Medical Center. He died from drowning and his death was ruled an accident, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's website on Monday.

Emergency crews were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Saturday to an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Randol Crossing Lane in east Fort Worth.

Marcus was at the pool with his mother, his siblings and some friends, police said Monday.

His mother left to go to her apartment with her 2-year-old and left Marcus with a 26-year-old friend at the pool.

At some point, Marcus wandered into the pool.

When his mother came back to the pool area, the 26-year-old friend was administering cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on Marcus.

When he was pulled out, the toddler was unconscious and not breathing, authorities said.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed in this case, police said.
