I remain appalled by the kind of reaction like John Zuback's to the events of the Aurora tragedy. (See: "Have Gun, Do Use," Thursday Letters)
He advocates armed theater-goers capable of responding to a potential threat by a deranged shooter in a cinema. So we would have any number of people available to open fire at a real or perceived threat during a movie and not being able to discern the attacker or defender in the dark.Of course, there have been similar events at other public venues. So, logically, he wants students, jurors, passengers and the like armed as well.Do you really think that I am going to a movie theater where the shoot-out in the audience has more potential danger than that perceived on the screen?-- Marty Goldsmith, SaginawHave more to add?
