At the Olympic Stadium: In the men's 4x100-meter relay, Usain Bolt, who already has won the gold in the 100 and 200 at the Games, tries to make it 3 for 3 with his speedy Jamaican teammates in the relay. Justin Gatlin, bronze medalist in the 100, and possibly Tyson Gay try to help the U.S. relay team rebound from a disqualification in Beijing. The U.S. and Jamaica relay teams are favorites in the women's 4x400 relay. In the women's 800 meters, Alysia Johnson Montano, who runs with a trademark flower in her hair, qualified for the U.S. In the men's 5,000, Bernard Lagat, Galen Rupp -- the silver medalist in the men's 10,000 -- and Lopez Lomong are in the running for a medal for Team USA

At North Greenwich Arena: Team USA's women's basketball team tries to win its fifth consecutive gold medal against France, a first-time Olympic finalist. Featuring veteran Tamika Catchings of Duncanville, the U.S. has won 40 consecutive Olympic games, dating to the bronze-medal game in 1992 at Barcelona. In the bronze-medal game, Russia plays Australia. It's the first time since 1996 the Aussies haven't been in an Olympic final.

At ExCeL Exhibition Centre: Wrestler Tervel Dlagnev, an Arlington High School product, will face Eldesoky Shaban of Egypt in his opening match in the 120kg freestyle competition. Artur Taymazov of Uzbekistan, the 2008 and 2004 Olympic champion, is in Dlagnev's half of the bracket and could be a semifinal opponent.

At Earls Court: The U.S. women's volleyball team, led by former Texas star Destinee Hooker of San Antonio, will get a chance to win its first Olympic gold medal in a rematch against defending Olympic champion Brazil. The Americans took silver in Beijing, but they beat Brazil 3-1 in a preliminary-round match at the Games. Japan plays Korea in the bronze-medal match.
