Trucker dies in wreck in Wise County

A truck driver was killed Thursday morning in Wise County after his 18-wheeler veered off a roadway and hit a utility pole, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper said.

The driver, who was not identified, died at the scene.

DPS troopers remained on the scene as they investigated the wreck.

Troopers responded to a report of a wreck shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday at County Road 4599 near Farm Market 51 in Wise County.

Preliminary DPS reports indicated that the driver over corrected after veering off the highway.
