Strong winds and small hail are possible this afternoon as storms pop up across the area.

One storm west of Keller was possibly producing pea-size hail but no severe thunderstorm warning had been issued.

"We're going to see these storms pop up and produce strong winds and small hail," said National Weather Service meteorologist Jesse Moore.

Wind gusts of 39 mph had been reported at Meacham Field and 47 mph in Denton.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect for northeastern Denton County and northwestern Collin County but forecasters said the storms are still expected to remain isolated the rest of the day.
