FORT WORTH -- A Weatherford College student whose body was seen being loaded into an SUV died in June from a mixture of drugs, according to a final ruling by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.
The ruling, released Friday, indicated that Stoney Stubbs, 20, died from mixed-drug intoxication, and his death was ruled an accident.According to medical examiner reports, Stubbs, a 2010 graduate of All Saints' Episcopal School in Fort Worth, had morphine, alcohol and methamphetamine in his system when he was found dead June 28.No arrests have been made in the case, police saidPolice received a report of a dead person in the 11000 block of Blue Creek Drive on the evening of June 28. Witnesses told officers they saw a man trying to load Stubbs' body into an SUV and confronted him. The man fled.Stubbs' body was there when police arrived.Police said they have identified the man who fled.Stubbs, born in Fort Worth, competed in baseball, basketball, football and rodeo, according to a Star-Telegram obituary.
