A former educational assistant with the Birdville school district was sentenced to life without parole Thursday for fondling two students in a computer lab, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney's office.

James Carroll Glawson, 60,was found guilty of continuous sexual assault of children under 14, which is punishable by 25 years to life in prison, a news release stated.

Evidence showed that during the 2009-2010 school year Glawson fondled two students who helped him clean the computer lab at Foster Village Elementary School in North Richland Hills, said office spokeswoman Melody McDonald in a press release.

Glawson lured the students to the lab with the promise that they could play video games, the release stated.

Court testimony showed that Glawson also "played Santa Claus and visited schools at Christmas," the release stated.

The jury deliberated for one hour and 15 minutes before assessing the maximum sentence.
