If anyone should recognize an unfunded mandate, Democrat Wendy Davis sure would. (See: "Davis testifies that voter ID is an unfunded mandate," Friday) In fact, most all Democrats would.
It seems ironic that Davis is so worried about an irresponsible unfunded mandate when that has never bothered any Democrat in the years since President Barack Obama was elected. It seems like the same political baloney that all politicians tout; none can be honest to those of us footing the bill when it comes to their own party's programs. That, folks, is why no one has high regard for politicians.I, for one, will vote for a politician who agrees to spend only what we can afford to do, just like we all are forced to do in our middle-class world.-- Robert Mehalick Sr., Arlington
