The Dallas Mavericks lost out on Deron Williams and other free agents last week, but they could be in the running next summer for Andrew Bynum.

The Los Angeles Lakers center would be interested in playing for the Mavericks if he doesn't reach an extension with the Lakers, Yahoo! Sports reported Sunday.

The report, which also lists Houston and Cleveland on Bynum's short list of teams, said Bynum "has shown no inclination to agree to an immediate extension if sent to Orlando as part of a Dwight Howard package."

Bynum, 24, will make $16.47 million next season with the Lakers and will become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't get an extension.

The Mavs are scheduled to resume talks today with point guard Ramon Sessions, according to a source. Sessions opted out of the final year of his contract with the Lakers that would have paid him $4.55 million.

Magic-Hornets deal: Orlando has agreed to a sign-and-trade deal, sending restricted free agent forward Ryan Anderson to New Orleans for forward Gustavo Ayon, a person familiar with the agreement told The Associated Press. The 6-foot-10 Anderson started 61 games for Orlando last season, averaging 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds.

Kings: Sacramento has reached an agreement with restricted free-agent power forward Jason Thompson, The Sacramento Bee reported. The deal is believed to be multiple years and will pay Thompson about $6 million in the first season.

Bulls: Sources told the Chicago Tribune that point guard Kirk Hinrich is expected to sign a two-year, $6 million deal with Chicago.

Bucks: Milwaukee is close to a deal with free-agent forward Ersan Ilyasova, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told the AP. The 25-year-old native of Turkey has played four seasons with the Bucks, with career averages of 9.7 points and six rebounds.
