Yu Darvish is going to the All-Star Game.
Darvish won the Final Vote, which pitted him against four other pitchers from the American League. It came down to a fan vote, and the Texas Rangers right-hander emerged as the winner of White Sox starter Jake Peavy, Baltimore starter Jason Hammel, Kansas City closer Jonathan Broxton and Angels reliever Ernesto Frieri.Darvish is the eighth player from the Texas Rangers selected to the team, a franchise record. Josh Hamilton, Mike Napoli and Adrian Beltre were selected as starters, Ian Kinsler was the players choice and Joe Nathan, Matt Harrison and Elvis Andrus were chosen by manager Ron Washington.Darvish, who wont make another start in the first half, has gone 10-5 with a 3.59 ERA in his first 16 starts in the big leagues.The Rangers acquired Darvish last off-season with a record posting bid of $51.7 million and then signed him to a six-year, $56 million contract.Have more to add?
