FORT WORTH -- A man who found the body of a Trinity High School student near his back door last week has stopped talking to investigators, police said Sunday. The man, whom police have not identified, called 911 Thursday evening and reported finding the body of a young woman, later identified as Claudia Hidic, 17, of Fort Worth. The man told Fort Worth police that he did not know her.But after a conversation with investigators, he stopped communicating with them, police spokeswoman Sharron Neal said Sunday. The man, however, is not a "person of interest" or a suspect, Neal said Sunday.Shortly after the body was found, investigators obtained a search warrant and combed the residence for evidence.Neal said investigators continued to sift through many items collected over two days from the man's home in the 3000 block of Overton Park Drive West in the Tanglewood neighborhood.Police declined to comment on what they collected for examination."We're still interviewing witnesses, family and friends," Neal said Sunday. The Tarrant County medical examiner's office said Hidic died from a gunshot in the head and ruled her death a homicide.Hidic had just completed her junior year at Trinity High School in Euless, said her older sister, Samira Hidic. On her Facebook page, Claudia Hidic wrote that she was from Berlin, Germany. Her Facebook page also said she was "Proud to be Bosnian," and was "100% BOSNIAN."Her body was discovered about eight miles from her home in south Fort Worth. The body was facedown near the back door, which appeared to have been kicked in, police said.Several people had been in and out of the area behind the home Thursday as workers repaired an air conditioner. The home is across the street from Overton Park, where joggers and other park visitors spent Sunday getting ready to cele-brate the July Fourth holiday."We have spent many hours there trying to find out what happened," Neal said. "It's just taking some time to process all the evidence we have."This report includes material from the Star-Telegram archives.Domingo Ramirez Jr.,817-390-7763Twitter: @mingoramirezjr.
