A man found dead in a Haltom City creek last weekend has been identified as Jose Herrera of Mesquite, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's website.

A ruling on his death is pending an anthropology examination, the website stated.

Haltom City police said today that they had no new information on the case involving the 26-year-old Mesquite man.

Authorities say they believe Herrera may have been in the creek for several days.

Haltom City police responding to a call of a dead person in the 6200 block of Little Fossil Road shortly before 6:30 p.m. found the body of a man partially in the creek at the north end of Little Fossil Creek.
