Don't change Lockheed pension plans

As a Lockheed Martin employee, I find it ironic that Gordon England would interject his opinion about the Lockheed pension plan, considering he left General Dynamics with a fat pension plan and stock options. (See: "It's time to end the pain at Lockheed Martin plant," Friday) He says that the trend is away from defined benefit pension plans to 401(k)-style plans. Because that's the trend, that makes it right?

If we open the door allowing Lockheed to alter our pension for new hires, how long will it be before altering pensions for current and past employees?
